GAF GoldElite Commercial Contractor ยท Houston, Texas
GAF Certified Commercial Roofing Contractor in Houston, TX
A GAF certification is a credential, not a sales line. It decides which GAF guarantees a contractor is allowed to offer on your building, and GAF reviews it every year. Here is what GoldElite means, what it does and does not do for an owner, and how to check any contractor in Houston and the Bay Area in under five minutes.

The short answer
GAF GoldElite Contractor: what Houston owners should know.
Mammoth Services, DBA Mammoth Roofing Services, is a GAF GoldElite Commercial Contractor based at 1120 E NASA Pkwy in Houston. GAF describes GoldElite contractors as evaluated annually for a strong reputation for quality, and lists them as able to offer the GAF Diamond Pledge NDL Roof Guarantee on qualifying systems. A contractor with only the entry-level GAF Certified status cannot offer Diamond Pledge.
For a commercial owner in Houston and the Bay Area, the tier matters most when you want a no-dollar-limit guarantee that covers both materials and workmanship. Eligibility, terms and coverage are set by GAF and depend on the roof system and project. Verify any contractor on gaf.com before you sign. To scope a roof, call Mammoth Services at (832) 416-1566.
The tiers
How GAF ranks commercial roofing contractors
GAF runs a tiered program for commercial roofers. Each tier unlocks a different set of guarantees, and the higher tiers carry an annual review.
| GAF tier | What GAF says about it | Guarantees GAF lists for the tier |
|---|---|---|
| GAF Certified Commercial Contractor | Entry level. Must carry proper insurance and licensing where the state requires it. | Integrated System Limited Warranty, System Pledge Roof Guarantee |
| GAF GoldElite Commercial Contractor | Evaluated annually for a strong reputation for quality and a commitment to current technology and installation methods. | Adds the Diamond Pledge NDL Roof Guarantee, with terms up to 25 years for qualifying systems |
| GAF PlatinumElite Commercial Contractor | GAF says fewer than 10% of its commercial contractors qualify. Approved annually by GAF field and sales leadership. | Diamond Pledge NDL up to 35 years for qualifying systems, plus the WellRoof Guarantee Extension |
| GAF CoatingsPro and CoatingsPro+ | Separate tracks for liquid-applied and coatings contractors. | Liquid-Applied Emerald Pledge Limited Warranty; CoatingsPro+ adds Liquid-Applied Diamond Pledge NDL |

What it means for you
What GoldElite status actually does for a building owner
Certification is useful for three concrete reasons. It also has limits that owners should know before relying on it.
It opens the no-dollar-limit guarantee
The biggest practical difference between tiers is the Diamond Pledge NDL Roof Guarantee. GAF lists it as covering the entire GAF system, including material defects and workmanship, with no dollar limit on covered repairs. Entry-level certified contractors can offer System Pledge and the Integrated System Limited Warranty, but not Diamond Pledge.
- Diamond Pledge NDL: GoldElite and PlatinumElite only, per GAF
- System Pledge: covers workmanship, but with a dollar cap
- Integrated System Limited Warranty: materials and labor to fix leaks, no workmanship coverage
It is reviewed every year, not granted once
GAF states that it evaluates contractor inspection ratings, claim history, responsiveness and reputation annually. A badge earned years ago means little. What counts is the tier GAF shows today, which is why the verification step below matters.
- Check the tier on the day you sign
It ties the installer to the manufacturer's standards
A GAF guarantee is only as good as the installation GAF agrees to stand behind. Working inside GAF's program means the roof is built to GAF's published system requirements, and the guarantee is registered with GAF when the job closes out. GAF states that all of its commercial limited warranties and guarantees must be registered under its registration requirements.
- Guarantee is registered with GAF, not just promised
What certification does not do
GAF is explicit: certified contractors are not GAF employees or agents, and GAF does not supervise their businesses. In GAF's sample guarantee, notice to the roofing contractor is not notice to GAF. Owners still need to read the guarantee, keep maintenance records and report leaks to GAF in writing. Our Diamond Pledge NDL guide covers those duties.
- The contractor is not GAF's agent
- Guarantee terms, exclusions and owner duties still apply
GAF systems
GAF commercial roof systems we install and service
GAF makes a full low-slope lineup. The right system depends on the deck, the existing roof, the building's use and the guarantee you want, not on the logo.
EverGuard TPO
GAF's thermoplastic single-ply membrane with heat-welded seams, in 45, 60 and 80 mil and a long color list. The workhorse for warehouses, offices and retail. See our EverGuard TPO page.
EverGuard Extreme TPO
GAF's high-heat TPO, offered in white, built for high-heat and solar applications. GAF lists guarantee eligibility up to 35 years on 80 mil for qualified systems, depending on the contractor tier.
EverGuard PVC
GAF's PVC line, including EverGuard PVC KEE. PVC is often chosen where a roof sees grease or chemical exhaust, such as restaurants and some industrial roofs, since GAF guarantees exclude chemical attack unless the system is designed for it.
RUBEROID modified bitumen
GAF's SBS-modified bitumen membranes. Multi-ply, tough, and common on older Houston buildings with heavy foot traffic or complex flashing.
GAFGLAS built-up roofing
GAF's built-up roof line. Redundant plies, long track record, and a frequent match when an owner wants to stay with the system the building was designed around.
EnergyGuard insulation and cover boards
GAF's polyiso insulation, tapered polyiso and HD cover boards. Tapered insulation is how a flat Houston roof gets the slope it needs to drain heavy rain.

Verify
How to verify a GAF commercial roofing contractor
Do this before you compare bids. It takes a few minutes and protects the guarantee you are paying for.
Open GAF's commercial contractor locator
Go to gaf.com's commercial contractor search, choose Commercial, and enter the building's ZIP code. You can also use GAF's verify my contractor page and search by business name.
Confirm the tier on the listing
Look for the exact tier name: Certified, GoldElite, PlatinumElite, CoatingsPro or CoatingsPro+. The tier decides which guarantees the contractor can offer. Our listing is public: Mammoth Roofing Services on gaf.com.
Match the bid to the tier
If a proposal promises a Diamond Pledge NDL guarantee, the contractor must be GoldElite or higher. If the term quoted is longer than GAF lists for that tier, ask for it in writing from GAF before you sign.
Ask for the sample guarantee
GAF publishes sample guarantee documents on its commercial guarantees page. Read the one you are being offered. Look at the exclusions, the leak notice rule and the transfer terms.
Check insurance and licensing yourself
GAF recommends that owners verify a contractor's insurance and licensing before hiring. Ask for certificates of insurance naming your entity, and check them with the carrier.
Beyond one brand
Why multiple manufacturer certifications help an owner
A contractor certified with only one manufacturer tends to sell that manufacturer's system on every roof. That is not always the right answer.
Mammoth Services is certified with GAF, Carlisle, Soprema and Sika Sarnafil. That lets us specify the system that fits the building: TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, built-up, metal or fluid-applied coatings. On a roof where GAF's EverGuard line is the best fit, the GoldElite tier lets us offer the Diamond Pledge NDL guarantee on qualified projects. Where another manufacturer's system fits better, we can work inside that manufacturer's program instead.
For public owners, Mammoth is a TIPS awarded vendor for roofing under Contract 24060401, which can simplify cooperative purchasing for schools, cities and other eligible agencies. For industrial and facility clients that prequalify vendors, Mammoth is an ISNetworld member contractor. Our team brings 42 years of combined experience to commercial roofs across Houston and Southeast Texas, from Beaumont to Matagorda Bay.
Certification also matters after the install. A guarantee lasts decades and depends on inspections, maintenance and documented repairs. Through our partner Roof React, owners can enroll in the RAMP program for scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance, and keep a Roof Passport: one record of the roof system, specs, warranty, condition history and service records. More on our roof management page.

Questions to ask any GAF commercial contractor
Good answers are specific and written. Vague answers usually mean the guarantee was not planned into the scope.
Which guarantee, which term, which system?
The proposal should name the exact GAF guarantee, the term in years and the GAF system it applies to. GAF ties term length to the system and, for Diamond Pledge, to the contractor's tier.
- Name of guarantee as GAF writes it
- Term in years
- Membrane type and thickness
Who pays the guarantee fee and how is it registered?
GAF's sample guarantees state GAF has no obligation until installation and supply bills and the guarantee fee are paid. Ask who handles registration and when you receive the issued document.
- Guarantee fee included or separate
- Date you receive the issued guarantee
What happens to existing rooftop equipment and penetrations?
Houston roofs carry heavy HVAC loads, exhaust fans and conduit. Every penetration needs a detail the manufacturer accepts. Ask how curbs, pipe supports and walkways will be handled so they do not become exclusions later.
- Curb and penetration details
- Walkway pads to service equipment

Office, retail, warehouse and institutional roofs across the city, where buyers often require a manufacturer guarantee in the bid. Commercial roofing in Houston
Webster, TX
Medical offices and retail along the I-45 and NASA Parkway corridors, where an occupied building needs a guarantee that covers workmanship, not just materials. Commercial roofing in Webster
Clear Lake, Houston
Aerospace contractors and offices near NASA's Johnson Space Center often prequalify vendors, so documented certifications speed up approval. Commercial roofing in Clear Lake
Nassau Bay, TX
A small waterfront city with offices, hotels and medical buildings where a verifiable GAF tier helps boards and managers compare bids fairly. Commercial roofing in Nassau Bay
Seabrook, TX
Seabrook properties inside city limits and east of Highway 146 sit in TWIA's designated catastrophe area, so the roof scope often has to satisfy windstorm rules and the manufacturer at once. Commercial roofing in Seabrook
League City, TX
Fast-growing retail centers and office parks in Galveston County, a fully designated TWIA county, where owners want both a certified installer and a clean paper trail. Commercial roofing in League City
La Marque, TX
Industrial and light commercial buildings near Galveston Bay, where a roof plan needs to account for wind exposure from the first scope meeting. Commercial roofing in La Marque
Dickinson, TX
Older retail and service buildings along the bayou and I-45 that often need a full reroof before a manufacturer guarantee is possible. Commercial roofing in Dickinson
Santa Fe, TX
Metal buildings, churches and small commercial roofs in western Galveston County, where a GAF single-ply or coating system may be compared against a metal retrofit. Commercial roofing in Santa Fe
Pasadena, TX
Plants and industrial buildings along the Houston Ship Channel, where ISNetworld prequalification and manufacturer certification are often both on the vendor checklist. Industrial and commercial roofing in Pasadena

Questions
GAF GoldElite Contractor: direct answers.
If your question is not here, call Mammoth Services at (832) 416-1566.
- 01
What is a GAF GoldElite commercial contractor?
GoldElite is GAF's middle commercial contractor tier. GAF says GoldElite contractors are evaluated annually for a strong reputation for quality and a commitment to current technology and installation methods. The tier lets a contractor offer the GAF Diamond Pledge NDL Roof Guarantee with terms up to 25 years on qualifying systems, in addition to System Pledge and the Integrated System Limited Warranty.
- 02
What is the difference between GAF Certified and GoldElite?
GAF Certified is the entry tier. It requires proper insurance and licensing where required, and allows the Integrated System Limited Warranty and System Pledge Roof Guarantee. GoldElite adds an annual quality evaluation and the right to offer the Diamond Pledge NDL Roof Guarantee, which covers workmanship with no dollar limit on covered repairs.
- 03
How do I check if a roofer is GAF certified?
Use GAF's contractor search at gaf.com, choose Commercial, and enter your ZIP code, or use the verify my contractor page and search by business name. Confirm the tier shown matches the guarantee in the proposal. GAF also recommends checking the contractor's insurance and licensing yourself.
- 04
Does a GAF certified contractor work for GAF?
No. GAF states that certified contractors are not GAF employees or agents and that GAF does not supervise their businesses. In GAF's sample guarantees, telling your contractor about a leak is not notice to GAF. Owners must notify GAF directly, in writing, within the time the guarantee sets.
- 05
Can Mammoth Services offer a GAF NDL warranty in Houston?
Yes, on qualified projects. As a GAF GoldElite Commercial Contractor, Mammoth Services can offer GAF guarantees including Diamond Pledge NDL, System Pledge and the Integrated System Limited Warranty. Eligibility, terms and coverage are set by GAF and depend on the roof system and project. Call (832) 416-1566 to start.
- 06
Is GAF certification the only thing that matters when choosing a commercial roofer?
No. It tells you which GAF guarantees a contractor can offer. You should also check insurance, licensing, safety prequalification such as ISNetworld if your site requires it, references on similar buildings, and whether the contractor can recommend more than one system. Mammoth is certified with GAF, Carlisle, Soprema and Sika Sarnafil.
